Join avid birders and naturalists Dick and Teresa Norris to experience the joy of slowing down to spot our avian neighbors in their natural habitat. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Search for wildflowers with Docent Carol Simpson and see the wonders of nature provided by our much-appreciated rainfall this season.

sunday, May 4 - 8:00 am. puppy pals!

Join Docent Anna Gateley-Stanton for a fun morning dog walk in Blue Sky. Don’t forget your leash, treats and water!

sunday, may 11 - 6:00 am. mom’s day wakeup hike

Skip the breakfast in bed routine and join Docent Celeste Larson for an early morning 5-mile loop through Blue Sky and around Lake Poway. We can grab coffee at the new Lookout Cafe before we circle back.

saturday, may 17 - 9:00 - 11:00 am. junior nature ranger

Docents will lead children through a series of activities allowing them to experience nature firsthand and have fun outdoors. Nature Ranger Certificates will be issued on completion of activities. An adult must accompany their children. Program is free, but space is limited to 15 children, age 6 - 10. Sign up today by calling 858-668-4781 or emailing ycohen@poway.org.

Get ready to dive into the amazing world of pollination, where small creatures make big things happen! Young explorers will learn why these little heroes are so important for our planet. Presentation, hike, crafts and giveaways. Limited to 25 children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Our warmest season with longer days and shorter nights. Reptiles and insects are loving the heat! Trees are in full foliage and bird songs fill the air

friday, june 20 - 6:00 pm. summer solstice hike

Start the summer on an evening hike through Blue Sky with Docent Celeste Larson. We’ll head up to Ramona Dam and stop to observe the official arrival of summer at 7:42 on the way back down. Out and back is 4.5 miles, 800 ft. elevation gain.

Did you know there are four distinct primary habitats in Blue Sky? Join Blue Sky naturalist Eric Brewer to explore these and many of the beautiful and diverse plants that fill our wonderful canyon.
